With the larger project to reconstruct and improve the I-95/U.S. 322 Interchange on hold until construction funds are available, PennDOT is moving forward with the replacement of the U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) bridge over the CSX railroad and Bethel Road, as well as improvements to the adjacent Bethel Road Interchange. These improvements will be constructed as Section CSX, the third phase of the U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) Improvement Project.
The Section CSX contract was awarded to JD Eckman Construction in October 2025, with construction anticipated to begin in 2026 with extensive utility coordination and relocations. Substantial construction is expected to start in 2027.
